Eonon D5150 BMW Car DVD Review

I recently purchased an Eonon BMW D5150 Car DVD Player on a group deal. Considering all the features it has, this is an incredible deal.

Installation

This car GPS is very simple in most situations. I took out my console and ran many times to run the iPod cable and OEM AUX so I'm very familiar with the process. The only difficulty I ran into was re-routing all the cables to the back of the unit as there were a lot of them, but after some trial and error it all worked in the end. I decided to take a chance and not buy the HVAC relocation bracket, which is not necessary for my taste. It sits well, there's a little gap underneath, but it's not very noticeable.

Accessories

I opted to add a USB port and an AUX port to play music/charge my phone, so I got Amazon's Simple Auxiliary Integration Kit (just a plug in the other end rca cable with aux port) and a USB input port (which plugs into the back of the unit) and run them behind my HVAC, through the shifter area, under my cup holders to the small under the console armrest coin tray, and drill a hole for them to sit in. I don't want a rear view camera because I can turn behind me and check for traffic while backing up, and I really don't want a wire running from the trunk lid to the console.

Features

I like all these features. I've tried NFC, USB, Aux and Bluetooth and everything works great. I love the fact that you can wirelessly stream music from your phone via Bluetooth. Call quality is good for a remote mic, I'd like to mount mine to the sunroof panel, but the wires aren't long enough to go through the headliner. My current microphone is in the upper corner of the driver's side windshield and it picks up my voice fine. There seems to be some kind of amplifier built into the head unit, as I can play music louder and my HK speakers are less distorted, if that makes sense.

GPS

< p >These were a few issues I had, but none of them were Eonon's fault. I just had the wrong file structure, but I fixed it and I'm running the iGo 8 just fine. I have the GPS antenna mounted on the passenger side. m The top of the board with the best reception. It found my location in heartbeat and directions and the ETA was very accurate. It loaded all the files onto the Kingston 8 GB Micro SD card and I love it. Got all 50 states (who knows, I might be taking a cross-country road trip this summer) Initially I had trouble setting up the file path to locate the GPS software, but I didn't scroll down

Customer service

Beyond excellence. I had many questions before and after purchasing a home and Carlos at Eonon always answered them in a timely manner. He was very helpful and sent me updated software for the unit to avoid the infamous launch.exe error.

So overall this car DVD GPS is excellent value for money.
