The new Razer Blade Pro

The Razer Blade Pro is a beautiful laptop with optimal ergonomics for work and play. The graphics are sharp and the 17.3-inch screen leaves no detail untouched. The keyboard feels top-notch, even comparable to a Mac. But the real gem on this machine is the Switchblade user interface. The mouse trackpad portion of the Switchblade's user interface is a multi-touch LCD trackpad with two different modes. The first mode is for displaying information and is displayed in full color. The second mode works like a multi-touch trackpad, which can sometimes be too sensitive. The LCD screen is about four inches in size and the resolution is more than enough for such a small screen. It can also be customized with user-selected wallpapers or background photos. The second part of the Switchblade user interface is a set of 10 keys that are fully customizable into commands and icons. Commands and icons can also be grouped into sets that can be toggled with the swipe of a finger. This allows great customization for the user. This is a great advantage for users who often play different games.

The Razer Blade Pro has several positive attributes, as mentioned above. However, it seems that for every great feature, there is also a small flaw. Although the laptop is thinner than most at 7/8 inches, it's also heavier than most at 6.54 pounds. It's still pretty lightweight compared to other gaming laptops, but there are plenty of lighter laptops out there that are light enough for gaming. The slim design also caused rapid overheating, and the machine was covered in blue. While the graphics are of the highest quality, wireless reception can be lacking, sometimes requiring online gamers to physically plug in an Ethernet cable to avoid lag. The power cord is also made to be slim and compact, which is a big plus considering the reported battery life is only two to three hours.

While the Razer Blade Pro laptop has many advantages and disadvantages, like any expensive computer, this machine certainly has great potential to meet the various needs of the user. If users are willing to make some sacrifices for performance, the performance of the Razer Blade Pro will be called a champion.
